Event App Speaker Profiles
What should speaker profiles in an event app include?
Attendees open an event app to decide which session to attend and who to meet. A speaker profile is the page that answers both. A thin profile with a name and a headshot gives them little to go on, and a full one can drive attendance and follow-up.
This guide lists what a good speaker profile includes, gives a bio template to send to speakers, and offers a checklist for choosing an event app, including questions for enterprise-scale events. For the process of recruiting and managing speakers, see the speaker management guide.

What a speaker profile should include
Aim for a profile that an attendee can read in under a minute and still know why to attend.
| Field | What to put in it | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Name and role | Full name, job title and organization | Helps attendees recognize and place the speaker |
| Photo | A clear, recent headshot | People use it to find the speaker at the event |
| Short bio | 50 to 100 words, written in third person | Gives credibility without a wall of text |
| Sessions | Each session the speaker leads, with time and room | Links the person to the agenda |
| Topic summary | One or two sentences on what attendees will learn | Helps people choose between sessions |
| Links | Website or professional profile, if the speaker agrees | Lets attendees follow up |
| Materials | Slides or resources, if shared | Gives attendees something to take away |
A speaker bio request to copy
Send this to speakers with a deadline well ahead of the event, so profiles are complete before the agenda is published.
Speaker profile request
Hello [Name], Thank you for speaking at [Event]. To publish your profile in the event app, please send us the following by [date]: 1. Your name, job title and organization, as you want them shown 2. A headshot (square or portrait, at least [size] pixels) 3. A bio of 50 to 100 words 4. A one or two sentence summary of your session 5. A link you would like shown (optional) 6. Your slides, if you would like to share them with attendees (optional) Your session: [title], [day, time, room]. If anything changes, tell us and we will update the app. Thank you, [Your name]
What makes a good bio
Speakers often send long career summaries. Edit for the attendee, not for the speaker's CV.
Lead with relevance
Start with what makes this person worth hearing on this topic, not with their first job.
Keep it short
Fifty to 100 words reads well on a phone screen.
Use the same style
Third person, same order and similar length across speakers, so the list looks consistent.
Do not invent credentials
Publish only what speakers confirm. If you edit a bio, send it back for approval.
Checklist for choosing an app for speaker profiles
Ask these questions, and compare the answers with what Eventdex's own pages say.
| Question | What Eventdex's pages say |
|---|---|
| Can attendees read speaker bios and session details? | Yes. The mobile app page says attendees can read speaker bios and session details in the app. |
| Can attendees find a speaker's sessions in the agenda? | The page describes a program agenda with a personalized agenda. It does not detail how speaker pages link to sessions, so check in a demo. |
| Can the agenda change on the day? | Yes. Organizers can change the agenda on the go and attendees see the update. |
| Can we notify attendees of speaker changes? | Yes. Push notifications go to attendees about last-minute changes. |
| Can speakers run live Q&A? | Yes. The Q&A widget lets speakers start and end Q&A, sort by popularity or recency and export questions afterward. |
| Can we collect feedback on each speaker? | Yes. Surveys can be targeted by session or speaker, and results viewed by speaker. |
| Can speakers edit their own profile? | The pages do not describe a speaker self-service portal. Ask whether speakers or organizers edit profiles. |
| Can we show speaker photos, links and slides? | The pages mention speaker bios. They do not list photo, link or slide fields, so ask what fields exist. |
Questions for enterprise event apps
Large organizations often run many events and need an app that scales across them. These are questions to settle in the buying process.
Branding across events
Can each event carry its own name and design, or does the organization need one brand across all of them?
Data and security review
What will your IT and legal teams need to see before approval? Ask the vendor for its security documentation.
Support at scale
Who supports attendees and organizers during the event, and in which hours and languages?
Reporting
Which engagement reports are available per event and across events? Eventdex's page mentions engagement analytics but lists no specific metrics.
Cost model
Is pricing per event, per attendee or per year? Eventdex has a separate event app pricing page.
Keeping profiles current
Profiles go out of date fast. Assign one person to own them and use a simple routine.
Collect early
Send the bio request as soon as a speaker confirms, with a firm deadline.
Review before publishing
Check names, titles and photos for consistency, and send edits back for approval.
Update on changes
When a session moves, update the agenda and send a notification to those affected.
Ask for feedback
After each session, ask a short survey, then share the results with the speaker.

FAQ
Event App Speaker Profiles: common questions
What should an event app speaker profile include?
A name, role and organization, a photo, a short bio of 50 to 100 words, the speaker's sessions with time and room, and a one or two sentence summary of the topic. Links and slides are useful extras.
How long should a speaker bio be in an app?
Between 50 and 100 words suits a phone screen. Long bios are rarely read on a small display, so edit them down and keep the style consistent across speakers.
Does Eventdex show speaker profiles?
Eventdex's mobile app page says attendees can read speaker bios and session details in the app. The pages do not list specific profile fields, so ask in a demo which ones are available.
Can speakers edit their own profiles?
Eventdex's pages do not describe a speaker self-service portal. Ask whether speakers or organizers edit profiles, and plan the collection process accordingly.
What is an enterprise event app?
It is an event app used by a large organization across many events, with requirements for branding, security review, support and reporting. The vendor terms vary, so judge it by the questions in this guide.
Can attendees rate individual speakers?
Eventdex describes surveys that can be targeted by session or speaker, with results viewed by speaker. Use a short rating plus one open question per session.
